- Sign into Flickr.
- Click your Profile Photo.
- Click Settings.
- Under “Membership status,” click Manage your Pro subscription.
- Click Cancel your subscription.
To cancel your Flickr Pro account, you must have a Yahoo! account and be logged in to it. From the Flickr homepage , click on “Sign Out” in the upper-right corner of the screen and then on “Cancel Subscription” from the page that appears. The process is quick, easy and all done online — no phone calls or faxes are required. If you’ve forgotten your password, don’t worry; just click on “Forgot Your Password?” under Current Account Info at the top of the login page. After entering your email address (the one tied to your Flickr Pro account), you’ll receive an e-mail with a link for resetting your password . When you have successfully signed back in using this new password, you will have access to your Flickr account. From there you can go to the Subscriptions page and click on “Cancel Subscription” as described above. Please note that cancellation of your subscription is effective immediately and that no further billing charges will be applied to your Yahoo! account.
What are the advantages of upgrading from a Basic Flickr account?

Can I change my plan?
If you upgrade to a paid plan (Flickr Pro), yes! You can always switch back to your Basic account if desired. Please note that deleting your Flickr Pro subscription does not turn on your Basic account — it will remain deactivated until you sign up for a new Flickr Basic account .
If you downgrade from a paid plan (Flickr Pro) to a free one (Basic), please note that they are completely separate accounts with different usernames and passwords. Any photo albums, sets, groups or contacts created under the previous free account are not accessible under the current one; however we do make it easy go back to your old account and copy photos, sets or contacts into the new one.
What are these Photo Albums I see listed under “Shared Links?”
Photo Albums can be found under Shared Links in the right-sidebar menu of any Flickr page (including Group Pool pages) and they look like this: . To add photos to an existing album, just drag them onto that photo album’s name. If you’d rather start a new photo album, click on the green “+” at the top of the screen where it says “Create a New Album.” Then, give your photo album a title and click Create!
I see people adding their own photos into my Group Pool – is that allowed?
Other users are welcome to add their own photos into your Group Pool, but only if they respect the copyright of your images. In other words, they cannot upload someone else’s work into your pool without permission from that person .
We recommend disabling comments on any photo you do not want others to upload onto — this can be done by clicking on the small switch next to each photo (More > Set Comment Settings > Disable Comments), and then removing it again when you want to re-enable them. To disable slideshows in group pools, go to “Manage Gallery” for that particular group and check off “Disable slideshows.” If you find a user has uploaded something infringing or otherwise offensive, please contact Flickr staff immediately using the “Report Abuse” link at the bottom of any Flickr page.
How can I add my photos to a Group Pool?
The Group Pool is a great way for photographers and photography enthusiasts to show off their best shots, get exposure for their work and gain Flickr contacts! To upload photos into an existing group pool, just drag them onto that group’s name in your Groups page (under “My Groups”). If you prefer to start a new group pool, click on the green “+” at the top of that same page where it says “Create a New Group.” Then, give your photo album a title and click Create!
If someone has already added one or more photos to pool and you would like to add to that pool, just go to that group’s page and click on “Add Photos.” You can also join a group as an editor by clicking on the words “Join Group” in the upper right-hand corner of any group page. To remove your photo from a specific pool , find it under the pool name then click “Remove this Photo.”
If you would like to remove your photo from all member pools, please contact Flickr Staff using the “Report Abuse” link at the bottom of any Flickr page.
May I post my photos publicly outside of Yahoo! where someone may download them?
In other words, when uploading your photos to Flickr, make sure you only share those with private visibility (or Creative Commons licensing) with those you explicitly authorize to view them.
Flickr is a community of photographers sharing their work publicly on the Internet. The easiest way to control who can see your photos is by using the visibility setting in Flickr. There are three choices:
Private – Only those people you specifically allow will be able to see these photos
– Only those people you specifically allow will be able to see these photos Shared – These are visible publicly and shared only with those in your Contact List (aka Circles), via Group Pool, or if they look up your username elsewhere (e.g., Google)

People keep taking my photos from Flickr! Can you help?
Since we’ve recently noticed that some of our images have been making their way into auction sites like eBay – even though they all include a copyright watermark – it’s probably best to remind everyone of this long-standing policy: No matter how cool your work is, don’t use other people’s photos without permission . If you see an image on Flickr that belongs to you and that is used without your consent, please contact Flickr staff immediately using the “Report Abuse” link at the bottom of any Flickr page.
I found someone’s photo on a site that I believe violates copyright, but it doesn’t mention Flickr anywhere. What do I do?
This kind of activity is called “hotlinking,” and while it can be frustrating when you see your images show up elsewhere without permission, there are certain things you can do to combat it . You could:
1) Register with the person who runs the site in question (if they have an opt-in policy), and ask them nicely not to hotlink from your stream; or…
2) Use a service such as No-IP which will map a custom URL to your dynamic IP (i.e., if you have DSL or cable, your IP changes whenever you restart your modem); or…
3) Host a local version of the site in question and block requests from that particular domain in your router (this takes extensive knowledge of Web servers, DNS, and network routing – not something we recommend unless you’re really stuck).

If you have purchased a subscription and change your mind, it is easy to cancel. Visit Profile (menu > edit profile) and click “cancel Pro subscription” where you’ll find direct access to suspend the service through the end of that month.
