Either way, this article will guide you through the entire process step-by-step with screenshots.<\/p>\n<p>1. First, go to https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/help\/1311128970284672?helpref=related. It should look something like the image below. Click \u201cDownload a Copy of Your Facebook Data\u201d at the bottom right-hand side of the page in blue writing.<\/p>\n<p>2. You will be redirected to another page that shows you what data can be exported and gives you two options for exporting your data; Standard Download and Zip File Download (High Quality). We recommend that you choose High Quality because it is more convenient when downloading pictures but this will take longer than the standard download (not available on the mobile app). For this tutorial, we will choose High-Quality Download which is shown in the image below. When you are ready, click the blue button \u201cDownload File\u201d on the right.<\/p>\n<p>3. Facebook will now begin generating your data for download which could take anywhere from a few minutes to more than an hour depending on how many pictures or messages you have sent\/received through the app (if it is taking too long try using a mobile browser). You will be able to cancel the download at any time if needed by clicking on \u201cCancel\u201d which is shown in the image below. Be patient because this step might not be necessary and once again it depends on how much data you have stored on the social media platform.<\/p>\n<p>Once it reaches 100% you will see a message that says \u201cYour Download is Ready\u201d which will redirect you to the data that has been prepared for download.<\/p>\n<p>4. \u201cView Download\u201d at the bottom of your page (not available on mobile app) and it should look like this:<\/p>\n<p>This section also shows how much storage you have used\/remaining, links to policies about how Facebook collects and stores your data, access to privacy shortcuts and a button to delete or archive all posts from specific people in one click. You can do this by clicking on the three dots beside each post that pops up after clicking on a name so go ahead and try it out.
