How to Delete Gmail Account Permanently
In a world of email overload, it’s tempting to wonder what would happen if you deleted your entire Gmail account. But before you go ahead and do it, there are some things you should know first.
When you delete your Gmail account, you forfeit all the messages in your inbox, outbox, drafts, sent mail and trash. You are also no longer able to log into Google using that email address.
However, some of your sent messages might still be recoverable by the recipient. If you’ve ever used Gmail’s “Canned Responses” feature to create a standard response that you send often (for example: “I’m currently out of the office on assignment.” or “Please see attached invoice”), those canned responses will no longer work once you delete your account. Any messages sent through Google Groups will also cease to function.
Additionally, it might take up to 48 hours for all traces of your email account to disappear completely from Google’s servers and backups. So if you do change your mind and want access to your Gmail account again, there is a chance that it might be back before too long.
If I cancel my account can I get it back later: It depends on how much time has passed since you canceled the service. If between 20 to 30 days have gone by, then no one at Google can see any of the content in your Gmail account anymore. To them it will look like an empty shell because they’ve deleted their copy of all your data
Here are five reasons not to delete your Google Account:
1) You’ll lose access to all of your contacts and old emails that might contain important information.
2) You’ll have a hard time finding anyone by their email address without going through the tedious process of typing in each letter individually.
3) If you’re signed into YouTube with the same username as your Gmail account, deleting one will also delete the other automatically.
4) Deleting an account removes any content associated with that account, including blogs and YouTube videos you’ve uploaded.
5) If you’re an Android user, your Gmail account is required to access some of the features of other Google products.
You’ll lose all of the data and content in that account, such as emails, files, calendars, and photos. You won’t be able to use Google services like Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or Play with that account.
When you cancel your account, it is permanently deleted from Google’s servers. As a result, any data connected with your Google account will be lost. All of your personal information will be kept on Google’s servers.
You won’t delete the Google account linked to a Gmail address if you remove it. This means you’ll still be able to use other Google programs, such as YouTube and Docs. Deletion of the Gmail address, on the other hand, also deletes all of the email stored in it.
You can’t simply create a new Google account and try to move your data from an old one. Only some information in a Google account is transferable.
You won’t be able to alter your username or real email address. You can only alter the name linked with the account. People will see the name you’ve been tagged as in their contacts if you’ve been saved under something else. Only emails you send to them will display “new name.”
You can sign in to multiple Google Accounts at the same time. You may use this feature to toggle between accounts without having to log out and log back in. Your accounts have separate configurations, although some of your default account’s settings might apply in certain circumstances.
You may remove any Google services you no longer wish to use by logging in to your Google Account and uninstalling them. You can also delete your entire account and all of your data, such as emails and photographs, if you so choose.
Is it possible that someone has the same email address as me? No, it’s not. Fortunately, Google does not allow duplicate accounts to be established, so no one is receiving e-mail that hasn’t been sent expressly to their account.
You can also delete your email account on Android using a web browser, such as Chrome, but deleting it on PC is more convenient.
The email cannot be retrieved once it has been deleted. (Except in the case of a closed internal network, and then only under certain circumstances.) Even if the message could be recalled, there’s no assurance that it hasn’t been read, printed, forwarded, and distributed among other things.
Click here to visit Google.com and sign into your Gmail account. Click the grid icon in the upper right-hand corner and pick “Account.” Click “Delete your account or services” under the “Account preferences” heading. Select “Delete products” from the drop-down menu. Enter your password OR Login using a web browser that supports two-factor authentication (Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
When your Gmail account is inactive for more than 24 months (two years), it is considered dead. If your account becomes dormant, you risk losing any data saved in Gmail, such as emails, files, photographs, and videos. You will not lose the account, though.
The account must have been deleted no more than 20 days ago, according to Google’s policies. There is a 20-day restriction: the account must have been terminated no more than 20 days previously. After 20 days, the account and all related data are permanently deleted, and Google cannot recover them.
The more practical reason is that deleting your data aids in current content (and ad) curation. People change their minds, our tastes develop, and periodically cleaning out your old video record, Google Play store suggestions, or even Google Podcast recommendations based on your present interests is like refreshing them to reflect today’s interests.
Hello David, When you delete your Google account, all of the photos in it are lost. If you’ve uploaded them to shared libraries, make sure they’re included in your new library before deleting your old one.
Visit the Gmail main page and attempt to log in using your email address and password for the account. If you receive a notification that states, “The username or password you supplied is incorrect,” it’s an indication that your Gmail account has been disabled.
