There are a few ways to deactivate your Facebook account. You can use the pull-down menu on top of the page, click Privacy Settings and then click Deactivate Your Account. There is also an option at the bottom of that same page called Contact with Support which you can use to ask for help if you’re not sure how to proceed. If you want someone else to have access your account while it’s inactive, they’ll need permission from both parties (you and Facebook).
