How to Recover Your Xbox Account
XBOX ACCOUNT RECOVERY
Select “Update Contact Information” from the drop-down menu. You’ll be returned to the main dashboard screen of your Xbox Live account. Remove any discs from your Xbox system. From the dashboard, choose “Recover Gamertag from Xbox Live” and follow the on-screen directions. Enter your new Windows Live ID and password, then click “Continue” to finish recovering your gamertag.
Go to Login and reset your password. Reset your password. Give us the location where you’d like to receive a security code (email or phone number). You’ll be asked to create a new password twice before receiving your security code.
Look up your username using your security contact phone number or email address. Request a security code to be sent to the phone number or email you used. Enter the code and select Next.
Go to account.microsoft.com and Create one! Select Sign in from the drop-down menu, then Create one! If you’d rather create a new email address, choose Get a new email address and then Next.
Resetting your system to its factory defaults erases all user accounts, saved games, settings, and home Xbox connections. Anything that is not linked with the Xbox network will be lost.
We need your Microsoft account email address and password to ensure that the security of your Xbox profile is up to date. There have been a lot of cases lately of people’s accounts getting hacked, so I’d want to double-check if anything was wrong.
