You can permanently delete your Xbox account by signing into Xbox.com and going to My Account -> Edit Profile -> Delete my account. If you have a subscription to Xbox Live Gold, you will no longer be able to browse the web and download games from the Store. If your subscription is for any other type of Xbox service (like Netflix or Music), those services will continue to work on your console after you deactivate your account. However, if you choose an option that disables all access to content licenses associated with your gamertag – such as removing all game install data – then it may not be possible for a relative or friend to reuse the licenses later because they may not have access to the necessary content codes that are stored on our servers.

A Gamertag associated with an active account will appear under this setting, even if you don’t use your gamertag to play games online through Xbox LIVE. This selection allows you to remove all content licenses associated with your gamertag, which disables all access to content that requires your gamertag to use it. It will also remove any other content you downloaded using your gamertag, such as games, music, movies and TV shows.
Anyone can easily reactivate many Xbox devices with a different gamertag if they’ve previously signed into the device or console using their own account. This selection allows you to remove all of the content licenses associated with your gamertag from this particular device, which prevents anyone who hasn’t previously signed in with that account from playing on it again.
You can choose to leave your game saves behind and continue to access them later by signing back into an Xbox One console or visiting https://www.xbox.com/redeem-codes . You can also choose to remove your game saves from this device. If you do choose to remove your game saves, they will be erased on the next time you sign in with a profile associated with an Xbox account that has access to those content licenses.
