How to Unsync Contacts From Google Account
How to Add Google Account without Syncing Contacts or Other Data in Android
To turn off, go to your Android phone or tablet’s settings menu. For Google apps, tap Google Settings for Google Apps Sync Contact Status. Select Off if you don’t want your contacts to be automatically updated.
Open the “Contacts” app (this is in Lollypop – earlier versions have different pathways, such as going via “Settings”). nClick on the menu option in the top right. Choose “Accounts.” nChoose “Google” from the drop-down menu. Select your desired account.
Close the Gmail app. Open Settings on your mobile device. Choose Accounts from the drop-down menu. Tap More in the upper right corner. Uncheck or check Auto-sync data as desired.
Gmail sync will not function or become stuck while your phone’s storage capacity is running low. Check how much space you have left using Settings > Device care > Storage. To learn which file type is taking up the most room and where you can save money, go into more storage space settings.
You can also limit Gmail’s functionality by enabling or disabling the following settings. When you turn on this feature, you will receive notifications and new emails automatically. You must pull down from the top of your inbox to refresh when this option is disabled.
Delete your Google account. Then go to Settings > Accounts, turn off auto sync, and log out of your Google account. Check if the Google contacts have been deleted from your phone contacts.
If the correct contacts have been linked but you find that they are incorrect, you can quickly remove them from the contacts app. After opening the details of a contact, tap the main menu in the top-right corner and choose “View linked contacts.” Select “Unlink” from this screen to remove all of your connections.
