How to SIGN OUT of Xbox One account! (Easy Method)
To sign out of your Xbox One profile, simply go to the My Account tab in the Guide and select Sign Out. If you have signed in with a Microsoft account, signing out will also sign you out from any other devices that are linked.
How to Sign Out from XBOX One Console?
If you forget your security code for changing a password or resetting an account and need help remembering what it is, simply go to Sign-in, security & passkey under My Account in My games & apps or the Guide. Select Forgot Security Code and enter the e-mail associated with your Microsoft account. You will then receive either a text message with your security code (if SMS is enabled) or an email within 5 minutes containing information that will allow you to set a new one yourself.
How do I remove my Xbox Live profile information from being searched on Xbox One? If you would like to prevent your profile information and/or Gamertag from appearing when people search for it across Xbox One services such as Game Hubs, select Privacy & online safety on the Settings menu > My Account. If you wish to remove one field only (such as name) simply deselect that box. To remove all fields at once, uncheck all boxes and then select Save. This way, if you ever want to add your information back in the future, you can easily do so without needing to remove individual fields.

To reenable the option to allow for automatic login, go back and select Enable or Suspend console. If you deselected “Suspend console” but have not yet signed in with your profile, your Xbox will automatically sign in when it detects that there is no active user on the system. If you wish to ensure that the console never signs in without a password or PIN even if someone else turns it on, uncheck both boxes under Sign-in options and then select Save Changes at the bottom of the screen. Even if you log into your account after doing this, anyone turning on your Xbox One who does not know what their password is will be prompted to enter it.
Go to “Settings” and click on your username. Scroll down until you see the words “Systems Storage,” and then click on Electronics (Or Computer). Next, find a list of all non-console devices attached to your account. To delete any listed profile from the list after selecting it, simply click Delete.

Creating an Xbox Live account is free. To create a new account: Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide and then go to settings (the gear icon). Select All Settings > System > Console Info & Updates > Add New Account or link existing account. Select Next after reading the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy and provide an email address where you’d like us to send confirmation information once your account is created. Select Next and select Confirm Email to send your verification email. Open the verification email you received, click on the link provided, and choose Create Account. Your Xbox Live account is now created.
To change your Xbox Live password: Press the Xbox button to open the guide, go to Settings > All Settings > Account > Sign-in, security & passkey > Change Password or Reset Password. Enter and confirm a new password for your account and then select Save Changes.
If you forget your password, you can reset it when signed in with an administrator profile on your console by going to My Account in My games & apps or the Guide and selecting Family. Once there, select Set parental controls for the child’s account or Manage another adult’s account. You can then sign in with an existing Microsoft account and reset your password using the Security info link below the amorphic in the My Account section.
To change your Xbox Live email address: Press the Xbox button to open the guide, go to Settings > All Settings > Privacy & Online Safety > Sign-in, security & passkey > Change Email Address. Enter your old email address and confirm it by entering a new one and then select Next. Enter any additional information requested and select Confirm. Select Done if you are finished changing your current settings, or select Continue if you want to change more than just your email address.
To change your Xbox Live privacy or online safety settings: Press the Xbox button to open the guide, go to Settings > All Settings > Privacy & Online Safety > Account. From here you can control which information is associated with your account including name, birthday, location, gender, and Gamertag visible in search results. If you want to remove this information from being associated with your profile permanently, select Remove from online search results. This will effectively hide your profile from appearing when people search for it across Xbox services such as Xbox Live Leaderboards or Game Hubs on that specific title. Select Next at the bottom if there are additional changes you wish to make and then select Confirm once you are satisfied with your changes.
To link an existing Microsoft account to your Xbox Live account: Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, go to Settings > All Settings > Account > Linked social networks. Select Next and either enter the email address or phone number associated with that Microsoft account. Select Next at the bottom of the screen once you have entered all required information and then select Sign in with that account. If you receive a message stating, “We can’t sign you in,” make sure that you enter the correct information for your linked social network such as entering your email address instead of your phone number.
you have forgotten your account’s password, you can reset it when signed in with an administrator profile on your console by going to My Account in My games & apps or the Guide and selecting Family. Once there, select Set parental controls for child’s account or Manage another adult’s account > More actions > Reset Password. You will then be asked if you want to verify your identity using a secondary device such as a cell phone. Select Confirm and enter the same information on that device as well, including Phone Number and Security code sent via text message to complete the process of changing your password on Xbox Live.
If you no longer wish to use your current email address on Xbox Live, you can change it by following the above steps but instead of selecting Linked social networks, select Change Email Address.
If you no longer wish to use your Xbox Live profile, you can delete it. To do this: From the main menu, select My games & apps and go to Settings > Account > Delete profile. Once you have read the disclaimer about permanently deleting your account from Xbox Live, select Yes.
I don’t want my console to sign in to Xbox Live automatically when I turn it on. How do I prevent that? If you wish your console to require verification of a password or PIN before signing in with an online profile such as yours (rather than allowing for automatic login), go to Settings > All settings > Privacy & online safety > Sign-in, security & passkey and deselect Automatically sign in when signed out or Suspend console.
