This process varies depending on which model iPhone you own so use this guide below if you want to know how to turn off email on your iPhone 10, how to turn off email on your iPhone 7, how to turn off emails on your iPhone 5 and older models.

How To Turn Off Email On Your iPhone 10

If you have an iPhone 10 this process is pretty easy. The default setting for the phone now is that notifications are turned on for mail but just in case you missed that screen here’s what to do: Go into settings → notifications & sounds and then hit “mail” as shown below. You will be taken to a screen with two choices: VIP (this is how I tell my phone the people who can bug me at any time) and “off”. Tap “off” and you’re done!

How To Turn Off Email On Your iPhone 7 & Older Model

If you get an email on any other phone than an iPhone 10 this process is pretty simple but different depending on the model that you own. Here are some of the ways that you can turn off email notifications for old iPhones:

1. If you have an older version of iOS then go into Settings → Notifications and hit “Mail” → tap “off”. Easy right? But wait… doesn’t it say VIP Messages at the top as well? One cool thing about VIP messages is that they come through even if your phone is set to silent mode, so if you want to know when someone important is emailing you this is the way to go.

2. If you have iOS 8 or newer then hit “Messages” as shown below → scroll down to “Mail notifications” and choose what you’d like (off being the best option). Just make sure that you don’t leave mail notifications on for people who are trying to get a hold of you because alerts will still occur even if your phone is set to silent mode! Having VIP contacts selected instead is a great solution because while your phone is on vibrate those are the only messages that will come through (as long as they are turned on in settings) and no one else can bug you unless it’s an emergency.
