If you still have money available or transactions in progress on Venmo, it won’t let you close your account. You’ll need to take one of two actions. You may either return the cash to the sender or transfer it into your bank account and keep the funds.
When you cancel your personal account, your business profile will be permanently deleted (if you have one), and Venmo will be unable to reactivate it. You’ll need to transfer any money in your Venmo account to a bank before closing it, or reimburse the sender.
If you have two accounts with the same phone number on Venmo, you can work around it by using the temporary phone number approach. You may use the Venmo app to transfer money from one account to another.
