To close your account, sign in and review the products you want to keep. If you still wish to proceed, select one of the reasons to permanently close your account and delete data from our servers by ticking Yes next to Close my Account on Amazon’s drop-down menu.

Here’s how to delete an Amazon account. The company says you should expect the email “within 12-24 hours,” but it will likely arrive much sooner than that. Unfortunately, even after all that, closing your account requires some additional work. If the email arrives, they’ll ask for your contact information so that they can reach out to you about “adding or removing” services from your account – an effort everything still closed as soon as possible.
You will no longer be able to log in to your account. All digital content (e.g., Kindle ebooks, digital music) linked to your account will be inaccessible as well as any digital content viewed through that account on other devices (e.g., Kindle app). Items ordered by the deleted account are not returnable or refundable.
Log in to Amazon.com on a PC or Mac, hover the cursor over “Account & Lists” and select “Your Account.” Click “Login & Security,” enter your password, then click the “Edit” tab next to your email box.
