Deleting a Gmail account is irreversible. After going through the process, all of your emails and settings will be deleted. You’ll no longer use your Gmail address to send or receive emails, and the email address will not be made available for anyone to use in the future.
What happens when you delete an email
The first thing that happens when you delete your email account is the deletion of all messages and emails in it. If you have folders, they are still there but empty as well. The second step after deleting an email account is to make sure no one can log into it again since if someone else were able to access your account, they would be able to see any saved messages or emails from before the deletion process. After this step is completed, tap “Delete Account” on the web page and then enter your password for verification purposes. When everything has been confirmed by both parties (the user wanting to delete their account and Gmail), the inbox will go dark with a confirmation message letting them know what just happened: “Your mail was deleted.”
The email account now has been deleted. In order to ensure that no one can log into it again, the second step is to make sure there are not saved messages in the inbox or any other folders within Gmail before tapping “Delete Account” at the bottom of the page and entering your password for verification purposes. If sending a message from an account after deletion has taken place will show as failed with a notification noting all emails have been removed, then you’re good to go! After hitting delete button on web page, enter your password when prompted so Google knows it’s really you who wants this done. The confirmation message shown once everything was confirmed by both parties tells them what just happened: “Your mail was deleted.”

Once you are there, look to the right side of that page (where it says “Delete your account or services”) and find the button that reads Delete Account.
