How To Delete Your Hotmail Account Permanently
Delete Microsoft Outlook or Hotmail Account 2019 HD
You are not the only person who has ever had to ask this question. If you have an old Hotmail account that no longer meets your needs or which contains sensitive information, it is time to delete it. The following article will provide you with tips for how to do so in a safe and efficient manner.
The first thing that you need to do when deleting an old Hotmail account is go into the settings of your current one and change the email address associated with your Microsoft ID. Once you’ve done this, make sure that there are no emails left in your inbox from the old account before proceeding. Make sure also that any contacts stored on your phone are updated accordingly as well.
You will then need to go into your web browser and navigate to the Hotmail page. If you’re using Windows 8, Hotmail is integrated with the mail app. To get to it, simply swipe from the right of your screen or select it from your Windows 8 apps list. Once on this page, click “Options” at the top and choose “Delete Your Account.”
If you don’t want to close down your account altogether (for instance if you would like to retain access to all of your sent messages), follow these steps: 1) Go into “Options,” 2) select “Deactivate This Account,” 3) log in when requested, 4) check that you have changed the email associated with Microsoft ID 5) click “Deactivate This Account”.
Another method for deactivating your account is via the chat system. Go into your inbox and look at the bottom of it for an option that says “Chat with Microsoft.” Check that you are using the correct scroll bar, then click on it. A new window should open with a rectangle in which you can type text—enter “delete my hotmail” (or whatever else you would like to use instead), and press enter. As soon as you do this, a helpful customer representative will be automatically notified and they will begin answering any questions that you may have or helping you fulfill your request for deletion if necessary.
You may remove your Hotmail account even if you don’t have a password, but there’s a catch. The only way to reset your password is through this option. You must, however, have access to the contact email used to establish your Hotmail account in order for this to happen.
Click the grid icon in the upper right-hand corner and pick “Account” from the drop-down menu. Click “Delete your account or services” under “Account preferences.” Select “Delete items.” Choose whether to delete your Google+ account or just certain products:
A Windows Live Hotmail account is permanently deleted after 360 days of inactivity (five days short of a normal year). If you don’t log into your Windows Live ID for a year, it, too, may be permanently erased.
To delete a user account, go to Accounts -> To manage another account, go to Users and click Manage Another Account. Accept the UAC prompt if prompted. Choose a user account to remove by clicking on it. Select Delete Account from the drop-down menu.

Select the account you want to delete and press the remove button. click “YES” and “OK” in the new window that appears.
Go to File from the top left corner of the Outlook window. Select Account Settings > Account Settings from the drop-down menu. After that, choose the account you wish to delete and then Remove it. You’ll be warned that all offline cached data for this account will be deleted after you press Remove.
