How to Delete Your Yahoo! Email Account
Yahoo has decided to discontinue its email service, but it’s not the end of the world. Switching to another provider can be done in minutes, and you’ll still have access to your emails through your web browser! Here are some steps on how you can deactivate your Yahoo mail ID.
1) Log into Yahoo Mail (https://mail.yahoo.com/).
2) Under ‘Account Info,’ click on ‘Manage Account.’
3) Click on ‘Deactivate my account’ at the bottom of the page and follow instructions from there.
4) Once finished, log out of your current account by going back to https://mail.yahoo.com/.
5) Now sign up for a new email address through Google’s gmail with a new password.
6) Log into your new account and find the ‘Gmail’ app on your phone, then click ‘Yes I’m In.’ 7) You’ll now be able to sync all of your email messages from Yahoo, including your contacts and sent messages!
8) Lastly, delete your Yahoo account for good measure. Log back into https://account.yahoo.com/ using a web browser and delete it from there too!
Your Gmail address will now become the primary way you receive most emails, but others might still send you mail to your old Yahoo ID as well. Do let them know that they can contact you at a different email address if they have to reach out urgently!
