The first thing you’ll need to do is cancel your existing Netflix membership. After this has been completed, Netflix will retain your information for the next ten months in their databases. Your account will be automatically deleted after that period if you don’t act. It’s perfectly feasible to do so sooner than that, however.
If your membership is inactive, you’ll be prompted to restart it when you sign in to Netflix. The billing date on your account will change to the date you restart your membership. Select the Restart Your Membership option from your Account page if your account is active.
