Click the gear-shaped Settings icon on the upper-right side of the screen and pick “Go back to classic Gmail” from the menu. Before your screen returns to its original Gmail appearance, you’ll be asked to explain why you’re returning. This step is optional.

How to recover lost email id and password
If you can’t access your account, follow the steps below to recover it. You’ll be asked questions to confirm it’s your account. Answer as best we can and reset your password when prompted for a strong password that you haven’t already used with this account.
After you’ve provided an email address to Google, click the “I don’t know” button when prompted for your previous password.Select the option that reads Verify your identity under all other options.
Resurrect old emails by looking up your username in a search engine. Use the following keywords to find messages: welcome, new account, password, confirm email, validate account and thank you for signing up.

You can also contact Google’s live chat customer service agents to get in touch with them if you are unable to reach a person on the phone. They will chat with you once you communicate through a message in the chat box. Once this happens, Google’s live chat agents will resolve your issue hands-on.
Depending on the email provider you used, there may be a way to regain access to your account. If you find the email you’re searching for, right-click it and select “Move to inbox.” On a touchscreen, hold the message and then press Move to inbox. After 30 days, emails sent to the Trash folder are permanently erased. If you deleted an email more than 30 days ago, it is no longer accessible.
